Samenvatting
An image is produced by a digital image acquisition system in which the incident ray is converted to a digital signal. The choice of wavelength in which the sensor is sensitive, the choice of resolution of the sensor and sampling of spatial frequency and temporal resolution depend in the main on the application. After the sampling stage has been thoroughly completed, the digital image obtained must be treated to reduce the distortions introduced by the acquisition system and by the conditions of image acquisition. Finally the data must undergo some preliminary treatment before it is possible to carry out interpretation on a preprocessed image. -I.Dowman
