Samenvatting

We present our method for developing a finite element model for multiphase flow. The implementation makes use of modern C++ techniques to promote code reuse and to present an easy to use interface for the development of additional models. In the present paper, we focus on the model for the carrier phase, which makes use of the PSPG/SUPG finite element formulation. We also employ a segregated semi-implicit scheme, which is more suitable for large meshes. We validated the code using the Taylor-Green test case. Finally, some experimental measurements are shown that will later be used as validation for the multiphase flow.
