Samenvatting

Beanbags have been used since the years '60 to neutralize people. This article studies a 12-gauge "sock" beanbag projectile from the firm "Defense Technology". We first determine the main parameters of the exterior ballistics. Then we come to the dispersion before going to the main point: the damage assessment. This evaluation is divided in three parts: skin penetration, bone fractures and internal injuries. Each possible damage are linked to measurable values or effects on a surrogate. The measured values are then compared with other previously tested non-lethal launchers. These comparisons are finally interpreted in order to conclude.
