    Samenvatting

Standardised test methods to assess impact resistance of laminated glass panels, such as EN 356, classify the outcomes based on a discrete, visual basis, with no instrumentation being used to investigate the dynamic behaviour. In this research, an experimental campaign with an extensively instrumented small-scale drop weight set-up is presented. The set-up is fitted with a force sensor, an accelerometer and displacement sensor. Furthermore the specimen are equipped with strain gauges and are filmed with a high-speed camera. Next, how to process the data is described. Quantitative data can thus be extracted from an experimental campaign, instead of mere qualitative information. It is clear better instrumented test methods, such as the one presented, are necessary to further develop adequate material models for laminated glass subjected to impact loading.
