In this thesis the central research question is (as mentioned on p.5) “What explains the securization of economic narratives and policies of the great powers?”. The author answers this question by developing geoeconomics as a conceptual tool to understand why and how great powers compete in the global economy. The concept is operationalized based on four key elements.
