Résumé

A research program was launched at the Royal Military Academy in Belgium with the aim of developing a mine detection system that uses ultrawide band (UWB) ground penetrating radar (GPR). Part of the Belgian Interuniversity project, called HUDEM (Humanitarian Demining), the program demonstrated the use of having information on plastic AP mine targets over a larger bandwidth. It also showed how higher frequencies can help to discriminate the response of a PMN mine from the response of air-ground interface.
