Ground Vehicle Tire Pressure Optimisation on Deformable Soil

The Ground Vehicle Tire Pressure Optimisation on Deformable Soil (TiPODS) project addresses the critical need for optimizing military vehicle tire pressure on deformable soils by generating unique experimental data. A custom indoor test rig will quantify heavy-duty tire performance under varying pressures, providing essential validation for advanced simulation models (supporting DFR GRiTA project and crucial NATO NG-NRMM development). This will enhance Belgian Defence vehicle effectiveness through improved Central Tire Inflation Systems (CTIS) guidelines and contribute vital terramechanics data relevant to NATO mobility challenges.
