Exploitation and upgrade of the ICRH system for the large international stellarator Wendelstein 7-X at the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Greifswald (Germany)

Activité: Expertise / valorisation › Expertise

Description

This project, part of ongoing research into a new sustainable energy source, builds on the earlier “ICRH-W7X” project, which concluded on December 31, 2025, and achieved significant results thanks to ETF support. The proposed work is structured around three main pillars: (1) conducting studies of the confinement properties of fast particles in the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator; (2) improving the machine’s wall conditions; and (3) further optimizing the antenna system and developing a new antenna concept based on the findings obtained.
