Abstract

A specifically designed closed vessel test which permits to observe the two combustion stages of a deterred propellant is ^ proposed. Using the experimental derivative pressure history, the deterrent impregnation depth is calculated. This impregnation depth is then compared with values obtained by IR microscopy analyses and satisfactory agreement is achieved.
