Abstract

A U-shaped antenna which is integrated in the wall of the Tokamak is proposed for use in the ion cyclotron frequency range. A theoretical description is given of this new launching system which presents no frequency cut-off and can be fed directly from a coaxial line. The coupling properties of this slot antenna are very similar to those of the conventional antenna presently used for ICRH in Tokamaks.
