    Abstract

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a relatively recent development in the field of human medicine, and is in many aspects unproven, because based on animal and laboratory evidence. An overview is given of the recent developments in research effort, made by the European hyperbaric community to work towards this final goal: to stand the test of Evidence-Based Medicine.
