Abstract

Continuous annealing experiments were performed on an industrially cold rolled AA 5182 alloy in order to clarify the recrystallization mechanism. Particle Stimulated Nucleation was identified as the active mechanism and the nucleation texture was determined using EBSD. A model is proposed to calculate the deformation texture in the deformation zone around the constituent particles. The simulated texture at the interface with the particles shows a good correlation with the nucleation and the final annealing texture.
