Abstract

The MOBIDIC family code was originally developed by SME under contract with DGA in order to improve understanding of the ballistic behaviour of propulsive systems. A part of its validation has been done by the MOBIDIC-NG user's group since this code has been delivered to military organisations such as ETBS, GIAT, ISL and ERM. The modular structure of the code associated with the variety of contributions from members of the user's group provides a code able to model complex propulsive systems that are developed nowadays (including ETC ignition, consolidated charges, dual grain and stick charges ⋯). This two-phase flow modelling is also applicable to other fields like vulnerability (evolution of a local ignition in a gun powder container ⋯). The capabilities of MOBIDIC NG are presented through different examples of applications provided by members of the user's group.
