Abstract

A method for the introduction of the size distribution in the calculation of the combustion rate is proposed. It has been tested in closed vessel experiments for two single base propellants and for the mixtures of these two propellants. The test comprises two steps. First, theoretical pressure-Time curves were calculated and compared with the experimental ones. Secondly, the combustion rates were calculated using different size distributions. These calculations validated the proposed method for the introduction of the size distribution. It has been shown that the effect of the size distribution on an industrial spherical propellant is significant.
