Abstract

The aim of WP5 is to show that the testing methodology developed in WP4 produces quantifiable, documentable, and evaluable performance data on systems under test and produces comparable evaluation results. The evaluation results from field tests must constitute actionable information for stakeholders in the sense that it will show how well the specific systems under test solve the scenarios defined in WP4.
In order to validate the methodology and C-UAS systems in different meteorological conditions and to ensure a varied response from the C-UAS industry to attend the COURAGEOUS2 field tests, three different and geographically spread trials will be organised in Greece, Belgium and Spain.
This first version of the deliverable, D5.1 (Report: First field trial report), has been written before the field tests in Greece (9-13 March 2026) so it focuses on the preparation, planning and scheduling of the trials and description of the preliminary test scripts. The second version was prepared after the field trial and includes details about the execution and evaluation of the trial.
The companies in attendance represented both the state-of-the-art systems employed by LEAs, as well as more long-term R&D focused endeavors. The COURAGEOUS2 Consortium provided the test environment and an opponent “red” team to challenge the companies and refine the testing methodology.
