Detection of defects in a fuzzy knowledge base

Abstract

In this paper we discuss the problem of detecting defects in a fuzzy knowledge base. We introduce a degree of redundancy and a degree of conflict which allow a knowledge engineer to identify potentially redundant or conflicting sets of rules.
