Abstract

Low-cost architectures based on the transient response of passive circuits are used for the generation of UWB pulses. The input signal is produced by a commercially available ECL gate. Several prototypes were developed for various frequency masks imposed by the regulation authorities. It is shown that in each case the spectral density of the generated pulses satisfies those masks.
