Abstract

In this paper, we present an accuracy model of a tank weapon system against small aerial targets. A medium calibre air bursting munition (ABM) hit probability against a low slow and small unmanned aerial vehicle (LSS UAV) is evaluated. The model is based upon stochastic propagation of errors through Monte Carlo simulations of the projectile and fragments trajectories. The combination of the probabilistic distributions of detonation point states with the fragments distributions allows the prediction of a probabilistic distribution of impacts. The inventory of error sources is done by an analysis of the weapon system fire control. The sensitivity of the munition dispersion to the different error sources is evaluated using the Sobol method for global sensitivity.
