Project Details
Goal of the project
With global tensions on the rise, Belgian information spaces are increasingly susceptible to (foreign) information manipulation. Modern technologies are thereby exploited to amplify traditional tactics, such as the spread of propaganda and other potentially harmful narratives. The NADYR project aims to develop machine-guided methods and conceptual frameworks to study the underlying dynamics by which such narratives form and propagate on social media. This narrative-centric approach will yield an in-depth empirical understanding of Belgium’s position at the intersection of various online issue spaces, which will serve both military and civilian-led analysis and mitigation of online disinformation.
