Simulation, Modelling and Analysis of Threat Evaluation and Weapon Assignment in the Maritime Theatre (including ballistic missiles and hypersonic threats)

Project: ResearchDFR

Project Details

Goal of the project

The scope of the project is a first sight rather open. Modelling and simulation of Naval engagement at sea is a big topic with a large number of interfering elements. This proposal however will mainly integrate existing research results and scientific findings in a novel way. It can be taught as a scientific force multiplier:
- Scientific expertise of radar and radar fusion research at the RMA will be abstracted in simulation models.
- The existing knowledge at the RMA about propulsion and stability of ships will be integrated.
- The department of ballistics and weapons systems at the RMA provides the input for the modelling of the different weapon systems (interior, exterior and terminal ballistics).
- The collaboration with ESA in the field of trajectory calculations for ballistic and hypersonic vehicles will allow including the novel threats in the analysis.
- Different other threat models are readily available from the MTMD-F.
