Goal of the project
The Project will focus on the deployment of tactical systems in coalition which must address several more and more significant challenges as time goes by. On the one hand, new systems need more and more bandwidth to achieve high data rates (necessary to meet operational needs such as video transmission), high-density networks, and flexibility to cope with different missions in a large range of operational and geographical situations. On the other hand, the laws of physics impose the use of frequency bands from HF to UHF to fulfil this range of requirements, especially for land operations. These bands have been used for decades and are already fully congested or can be contested by adverse jamming actions.
The project will study, compare and assess different dynamic management strategies for frequency resources in order to optimize the bandwidth sharing in 2.5 D space (land and low altitude mobiles) of an operation theatre considering usage of VHF and UHF bands.
