Project Details
Goal of the project
This project aims to develop a robust ricin detection and identification laboratory pipeline that will provide the Belgian Defense with an up-to-date, multi-assay response to suspected ricin bioterrorism/biocrime. Due to ricin’s ambiguous position as a biotoxin, the chemical analysis laboratory (DLD-CA) and the biological laboratory (DLD-Bio) of DLD, will combine their expertise and know-how, improving existing assays and developing novel ones, which will include a new on-site screening technique, reach back cross-confirmation methods and an optimized sample preparation protocol for the LC-MS/MS reference method.
Role of the organisation
RMA is in charge of administrative management and stakeholder analysis of the project.
