Quantitative correlation between the dimensions of a firearm and the internal pressure developed by an ammunition

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

The project aims to study and propose a scientific method, based on state of the art experimental methods and numerical modelling, in order to establish the influence of the internal dimensions of the barrel on the developed internal pressure and the projectile velocity in the barrel. These will be further correlated with the weapon’s performance in terms of muzzle velocity, impact location dispersion, and projectile attitude, through the life cycle.
