Goal of the project
Over the past few years, a rapid increase of malicious use of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) has been noted. As a reaction to this threat, a variety of Counter-UAS systems based on different technologies has been or is being developed. Kinetic systems are one of the most important ones.
This project has the goal to create a tool that can predict the effectiveness and/or optimize the use of kinetic-energy projectiles (unitary and airburst) in the fight against sUAS.
