Project Details
Goal of the project
The expected results of the BIOTACTic project include the development of a bio-based wound-healing hydrogel that integrates standard-of-care antibiotics with probiotics and novel complementary antimicrobials. These antimicrobials include fast-acting endolysins targeting Gram-negative pathogens, patented FibriLysins for Gram-positive pathogens, and advanced antibiofilm molecules. The hydrogel will also contain bacteriocin-producing probiotic microbes to prevent (re-)colonization by unwanted pathogens and contribute to wound healing.
