Influence of actual impact conditions versus testing conditions on the efficiency of torso body armour systems

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

This project wil study the influence of:
- the standoff of the torso body armour from the body on the risk on perforation and behind-armour blunt trauma or BABT;
- the clothing/equipment worn under or over the torso body armour on the risk on perforation and behind-armour blunt trauma or BABT;
- the torso body armour on the wounding capacity of the projectile in case of overmatching threats both for partially penetrating as well as completely perforating projectiles.
