EU Partnering with the Global South Amid the Battle of Offers

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

Recently, the EU has started to establish partnerships with states in the Global South to strengthen its economic security in a world increasingly marked by power politics and unforeseen disruptive events. The PEGASUS project will analyze how these partnerships, which have the potential to reshape EU-Global South relations, are unfolding in the domains of critical raw materials and green hydrogen. In doing so, it will consider how the EU interacts with the alignment preferences of the Global South and with competing offers extended to the Global South by other major powers. The project will also consider the broader security implications of the newly forming partnerships.
