Project Details
Goal of the project
Spontaneous nuclear fusion in experimental fusion reactors requires high ion
temperatures. These can e.g. be achieved through wave heating. Parasitic heating due to the presence of high-amplitude electric field in the plasma edge is a concern. The present research aims at a self-consistent description of the wave-particle interaction in the edge, allowing to study means to minimise the deleterious effects.
