Development of biofidelic surrogates for Kinetic Energy Non-Lethal Weapons (KENLW) and Behind Armour Blunt Trauma (BABT)

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

The proposed research study consists in developing a new set of surrogates, based on KENLW biomechanical data, and validated both for assessing KENLW impacts and BABT. These should ultimately be proposed as tools in the evaluation standards STANREC 4744 and STANAG 2920. Four surrogates will be developed: a skin penetration surrogate, an abdominal surrogate, a thoracic surrogate and a head surrogate.
