Design of a low collateral damage ballistic weapon system for short range LSS UAV neutralization

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

Development of a low cost, rapidly deployed integrated ballistic system dedicated to the neutralization of LSS UAV on the last line of defense, while minimizing collateral damage The presented study proposes to focus on the development of a low cost, rapidly deployed integrated ballistic system dedicated to the neutralization of LSS UAV on the last line of defense. Neutralizing the threat consists of maximizing the neutralization effect of the system on the LSS UAV, as well as maximizing the probability to hit. The envisioned theater of operation is characterized by a very short-range engagement, typically fewer than 50m. The targeted environment is characterized by a potentially high civilian presence. All these considerations require the development of a dedicated system, between a classic Anti-Air system, a small caliber weapon and a non-lethal weapon, that neutralize the threat while minimizing collateral damage.
