Contributions to the development of a self-consistent 3D wave-particle description for tokamaks and stellarators

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

Nuclear fusion represents a promising source of safe, clean and cheap energy. Complex nuclear fusion devices such as stellarators need to be heated to reach the relevant temperatures with the help of RF waves, and a complete 3D description of the wave-article interaction is necessary to predict the efficiency of heating scenarios. We will develop numerical codes with increasing level of complexity to describe RF heating in stellarators.
