Project Details
Goal of the project
A large-scale blast simulator for blast protection research is equivalent in importance as the wind tunnel is to aerodynamics research. The design of a large-scale blast simulator would allow the RMA to play an important role in the study and design of blast resistant materials and structures. The objective of the present proposal is to design a large-scale gas-driven blast wave tunnel with the possibility of coupling it to a multiple fragment launcher to be able to simulate the effect of typical cased ammunition.
