A descriptive study on line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) for burn wound grading and healing time prediction compared to clinical examination and laser Doppler imaging (LDI)

Project: Research

Project Details

Goal of the project

Accurate assessment of burn wounds is critical for treatment choice. Burn classification is currently based on clinical examination, which can be in some cases unreliable. New imaging techniques have emerged to help physicians in the classification of burn wounds, the most studied one being LDI.

Role of the organisation

The researcher, Med Carmen ORTE CANO, is a specialist in Trg from ERASME/ULB but is hired by RMA Patrimony during the project. The research takes place in the QAMH that provides patients and shares its expertise.
