Triggering radial back face fracture of additively manufactured ceramic tiles

Activity: Talk or presentation › Oral scientific presentation

Description

Presentation of the experimental and numerical work conducted in the framework of the DEFRA HITS project. Radial fractures were induced in additively manufactured SiC tiles to determine the impact resistance of the material without fully disrupting the sample. Numerical work was performed in LS-DYNA (ANSYS) using the second Johnson and Holmquist material model for ceramics and the Peridynamics framework.
