Description

This master’s thesis presents the design, optimization, and experimental validation of a pyrotechnic bird-strike launcher developed at the Royal Military Academy to simulate avian impacts on aircraft structures. Improvements to the launcher configuration, projectile design, and measurement instrumentation enabled reproducible projectile velocities exceeding 200 m/s, supported by pressure and velocity diagnostics and analytical internal ballistics models. The work contributes to enhancing test ca
