Activity: Expertise / ValorisationExpertise

Description

Measurement of the energy absorption of the various target plates prepared by Empa. Each configuration shall be impacted by 7.62 fragment-simulating projectiles or bullet-simulating projectiles (depending on the results of the calibration test session) shot at velocities that will allow achieving the same energy levels as the 7.62 x 51 SS77 projectile shot at nominal velocity and at velocities varying according to the specifications of NATO ΑΕΡ-2920 standard for V50 assessment. The plates shall be mounted on a ballistic pendulum. The fragments of plates and projectiles shall be recovered in gelatine blocs in order to determine the damages inflicted by impacts on the various targets. A body motion sensor shall record the displacements/accelerations of the pendulum in all three directions. High-speed camera shall be used to track the displacement of the pendulum
