Goal of the project
The RADIATE project leverages Raman spectroscopy and LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) for the active remote identification of radioactive materials, reducing operational risks and enhancing situational awareness in radiological threat scenarios. RADIATE supports defence missions in nuclear security, battlefield reconnaissance and border-control operations by delivering a new type of instrument, field-deployable on fixed and motorized detection platforms (ex: rovers).
