Goal of the project
The aim of this research project is to better understand dynamics, drivers and policies for voluntary attrition within Belgian Defense. Different types of attrition undermine the overall performance of Belgian Defense, and at present it is not clear what drives attrition nor how to tackle it. The research question of the project is “What are the dynamics underlying, and key determinants of, voluntary attrition within Belgian Defense?”.
The deliverables of the research project are threefold.
First, the project seeks to assemble, centralize, and analyze all existing data on attrition within Belgian Defense.
Second, the project aims to collect new quantitative and qualitative data on (explaining) various types of attrition within Defense.
Third, based on the findings of the research project, the study intends to formulate clear policy recommendations on controlling and reducing attrition.
